Planning and preparation for this year's exhibition is now well in hand. We expect to be staging the following Demonstrations and Clinics as part of our 2009 exhibition. This list will be amended and/or updated as more information becomes available.



ROY JACKSON (of 'RETFORD' fame) presents:

  • EM CORNER - Stand Nos: 92 - 99
    Your one-stop place to visit to find out how to go EM modelling - but there's lots of very useful stuff here that'll help you whatever scale you model in !


    • Layouts: 'VALLEY FIELDS' - There are more EM & P4 layouts included in other areas of the exhibition.

      • Eastern Region Mainline Motive Power & Rolling Stoack - with Roy Jackson of Retford fame (with videos of Retford playing).


      • If You Go Down in the Woods Today ! - grass and scenery using teddy-bear fur fabric, with John McCrea.
        It looks as if John will be busy tis weekend ..... he'll also be demonstrationg how to do your own etching and using servos to operate signals !


      • Styrene Card Wizardry - with Geoff Kent (possibly the finest exponent of the ‘art’).


      • Mechanisms and Mainframes Making 'em run as they should, with Malcolm Crawley.


      • The Carriage & Wagon Dept - Rolling Stock with Vernon Harrod.
        * Due to unforseen cicumstances, Vernon will not now be at the show but, hopefully, will return next year.


      • POST-Steam Eastern Region - with John Phillips building and modifying stock for the 1970s era.


      • All Things LMS - with Vincent Worthington, of Camden Bank fame.


      • LMS Locomotives - with Mick Moore.


      • Converting R-T-R Locomotives to EM Gauge - with Pete Hill.

    • Simply Scenery - with Tony and Sue Hill, masters of the craft.


    • Locomotives, Buildings and Atmosphere - with John Cockcroft and Charlie King.


    • Soldering School - with Steve Barnfield, one of the country's leading professional builders demonstrates the techniques involved.


    • Coach Building - with Brian Bartholomew: building wooden bodied coches with ..... well, surprisingly, wood !


    • A Passion for Plastic - learn all sorts of new techniques from the masters, the International Plastic Modellers Society.


    • Buildings of The Virginian - with Peter North: constructing buildings in 3.5mm scale for his latest layout depicting the Virginian Railway.
      (see it at Nottingham, next year).


    • Resistance Soldering - with Percy Blakeney: showing the equipment, materials, methods and techniques
      (Supported by MARC Models).


    • Signalling - Mike Hayward makes a welcome return to the Nottingham Exhibition to show how to build realistic, working signals.


    • The Green, Green Grass - Realistic scenery using the products of our long-standing exhibitor, John Lloyd of Green Scene


    • North American Modelling - with John H Wright.


    • The WOODHEAD GOES LARGE ! - as Graham Clark builds Gauge 0 1500V dc EM1s using his own etches; very impressive !

    • LOGO Santona Publications Santona Publications - Publishers of really useful reference and resource books for modellers,
